Recycling Changes

Tri-R Recycling has informed us that the drop off site for recyclables will re-open Saturday, October 10th, 2020.  They will be at the Dodge Street location to accept items from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. each Saturday.  There will not be any Wednesday drop off hours at this time.  They are asking that residents wear a mask for your safety as well as the Tri-R staff and to maintain social distancing as much as possible.  Thank you for your cooperation with re-opening of the drop site in a safe manner.  Curbside pickup will remain the last Tuesday of the month.

Please find below a few reminders from Tri-R:

*Please rinse your recyclables.

*Separate recyclable materials into appropriate categories.  They accept #1 and #2 plastics, tin, aluminum, glass, newspaper, cardboard, and office paper.  Please separate each recyclable by category.  For example, glass with glass, tin with tin.    Do not put tin and glass together in one container.

*Please remove lids from pop, water, laundry detergent, other plastic containers, and glass containers.

*Flatten cardboard.

*Newspapers should be bundled and tied.

*Some items that are NOT recyclable, and are not accepted are as follows:

Automobile oil, oil containers, unclean items, mixed materials, styrofoam/clear wrap, wrapping paper, magazines, clam food containers (that are often labeled #1), plastic bags, light bulbs, ceramic or clay materials, mirrors, batteries, dirty diapers.
