Public Notice - Whitehall Electric Customers

PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS OF THE

WHITEHALL MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission has reviewed and approved an overall electric rate increase of $286,410 or 8.41 percent for our utility.  The new rates will take effect March 1, 2026.  We want you to know what’s changing, why the rate update is needed, and how this investment benefits our community.

The bill you receive dated April 5, 2026, will reflect the new rates applied to your March usage.  Current rate information can be found by calling or stopping at the utility office, located at 36295 Main Street (the train depot).

This is the first electric rate adjustment since 2017.  During this time, we’ve worked hard to keep costs down even as prices for materials, equipment, and energy have risen across the industry.  The new rates will help cover increased operating costs and fund the community’s investment in the utility.

We understand that rate changes can be difficult.  As your locally owned, not-for-profit utility we are dedicated to serving the Whitehall community.  We invest in local infrastructure and services that keep your power reliable and support the long-term strength of our entire community.

If you have any questions, please contact the Whitehall Municipal Electric Utility at (715) 538-4353 or whitehall@whitehallwi.com.
